How to face work in 2015

A new year means a new list of resolutions which we usually break in the first month. So this year, why not set ones which are realistic and ones you are likely to reach at work. We all dread going back to work so why not make it interesting.

January is known as the most depressing month so why not make it exciting by setting goals for yourself at work.

What is the best way to prepare for a new year at work? Well, get organised of course. Below are some tips on how to do this and how to prepare for the year ahead.

1.   Start off by listing out your goals for 2015. Write a list of things which you want to achieve in 2015 at work. Write down your goals, this will help motivate you and give you something to reflect back to after a few months. Setting goals is important as it gives you something to work towards. These can be both for your current job and for your own professional goals - getting to where you want to be at the end of 2015.

2.     Get organised. Clear out your desk, emails and voice mail inbox's. This way when you return you will be nicely organised and tidy too. Being tidy and organised can reduce your stress levels and this is something we all want to prevent.

3. Buy new work pads, pens and a diary, to give you a fresh work feel. A diary is a necessity when it comes to work and organisation. A digital diary is good too however one which fits in your bag is ideal especially if you are always on the move.

4. Make sure you attend all back to work meetings. Most businesses have a corporate meeting in the New Year to discuss the up and coming year, such as goals and targets. These will be essential as it will allow you to know what direction 2015 will go in. Once you have attended this meeting, you should create a to-do list for yourself and others in your department for the up and coming weeks to keep your organised.

If you are planning a back to work conference visit Moness, and check out their hotel event rooms which are set in the beautiful grounds of Perthshire.

Reasons You Should Visit Portugal This Summer!

I know what you’re thinking, why talk about summer when Christmas hasn’t even been yet? Well the answer to this is a simple one; planning ahead will always be an essential when booking holidays. Knowing where you want to go and why it is equally as important. With this said, it brings to attention just how much thought really has to go into the location and what that location brings.

Of course wherever you go will offer up a slightly different experience, no matter how similar the landscape, weather or culture might be. In Portugal, you are bound to enjoy yourself. There is no way you’ll go there without that happening this is for sure. However, sometimes enjoying yourself isn’t enough; sometimes doing something that is absolutely unique is what you might be looking for?

Another great aspect that has to be considered when choosing where you go on holiday is the fact that you must know what kind of experience you might want to have. Some people go for the adventure, some to relax; others go just to get away from the stresses that work might be bringing. So therefore, this is where this article comes in. Whilst it would be impossible to go through all different kinds of holidays. Instead, it would be easier to explain what visiting Portugal would be all about and the kind of experience you might get from this.

History…

The history is important when looking at any place. So often this is what makes up the culture and where the feel for the place comes from too. Portugal has a rich and interesting history in a few different ways. Throughout its time there have been multiple invasions and struggles until joining what is now known as the European Union in 1968.

Of course there is much more to the Portuguese history such as whale hunting becoming the main source of income and religious artworks. On top of this there are also churches that were frequented especially in times of great political struggles. Geographically, the islands were formed because of volcanic activities millions of years back. This gives the place a unique feel and makes some of the landscapes take up a more ancient feel.

People & Culture…

Sometimes the people or locals of a place make the entire holiday feel a different way. So often this is the case, but so often there is no credit given either. Without the welcoming and kind aspects in which the locals display throughout Portugal, you wouldn’t feel as relaxed at all. You will be treated as if you have lived here for years and it’s almost a guarantee you’ll feel right at home too!

There are a number of festivals that take place throughout the year and these wouldn’t be the way they are without the culture and the people of Portugal. This includes events that retell history and express their roots; this really does make for quite a spectacle that tourists always tend to thoroughly enjoy!

Sea Excursions…

Excursions in Portugal are different to ones anywhere else! When you come here you aren’t just faced with the natural beauty or the experience of tranquillity. When you come here you’ll have the opportunity to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat. Or maybe you want to go diving off some of the most astonishing peaks into the clear blue sea? Perhaps even go scuba diving! If you’re fortunate enough, you might even be able to catch sight of a whale too.

Most Adventurous Locations You Should Visit!

Sometimes sitting by the pool all day, relaxing on the beach, or having a slow stroll into town isn’t enough. Sometimes you just want a bit of adventure during your holiday, maybe a new experience? After all, whilst relaxing by the pool is luxurious and fun, it is something a lot of us might have experienced a few times before.

Doing something you never have before will always be exciting, no matter what it might be. So imagine the excitement you get from this and times it by ten. Being in a different country is an exciting event in itself, therefore, adding the element of adventure will make for a wonderful experience as a whole!

Want to find out how or where to take up the element of adventure? Then simply carry on reading, this entire article has been made in order to help you grasp a better understanding of what having an adventurous time abroad means, and how you can go about doing these things.

Mountain biking, France…

Throughout France, there is the luxury of being amongst mountains which is perfect for those who wish to enjoy cycling in any form. One of the most exciting and action packed kinds of cycling on offer here is mountain biking. Of course there are the Alps; where alpine tracks have created a wonderful playground for those which are that way inclined!

There is over 650km of trails in Portes du Soleil; these range from mild to absolutely crazy! The steady build-up of the extremes is excellent for those who wish to try out the safer options before going in on the more action-packed tracks which feature everything you might be expecting or want from a track in order to fulfil the adventurous person inside us all!

Swimming, Sporades Isles, Greece…

Here, you have the opportunity to swim from one island to another and simply take in the area which explains why this makes for quite a magical experience! Should you choose to stay here; you’ll be able to swim every single day with no disturbance. These waters are incredibly quiet and this offers for quite a soothing/ therapeutic experience, as you’re given the time to reflect and enjoy every single moment.

Ever wanted to swim with dolphins or seals? Or maybe you have done this before? But, one thing for certain is there are only so many people who are given the opportunity to swim with either in their natural habitat! This part of the sea is protected in order to give the dolphins, seals and other animals a great chance to meet you along the journey between one island to the other! What is more, you won’t have to worry about carrying your equipment either, as this will be carried behind you in the support boat.

Stand-up paddle boarding, Dominican Republic…

There are many locations you might want to seek out before jumping right into stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), as there are some spots which will remain relatively empty. This will ensure you don’t bump into anyone in other spots that are being used due to the popularity in surfing. There is around 500km of North Atlantic swells to make the most of and SUP, which offers a perfect opportunity to catch these waves and ensures the most enjoyment possible too!

Throughout your time doing this, you’ll also be given a fantastic chance to go and explore the region’s river mouths, outer reefs and crystal-blue Caribbean coves. This and the SUP combined make for something quite special and it will ensure you’ll be able to not only be able to have an action packed holiday, but an adventurous one too.

Reasons Why You Have To Visit Gran Canaria!

Gran Canaria is a place that many people can’t help but fall in love with. In fact, many people end up living out there for some time. If they don’t they choose to revisit year on year due to the experiences they receive every single time. Like anywhere with the weather this island receives; it is easy to relax here and this is somewhat one of the biggest attractions. So if you’re looking for an escape from working life, even if it’s just for a week then Gran Canaria is ideal; when you’re here you’ll never find yourself under any real stress throughout the holiday.

There is more to this island though, for those who want to do something different every single day and find relaxing by a pool to be rather boring; you won’t be disappointed either. There are multiple different activities you can do whilst you are here and the best thing about some of them is the fact you can’t do them anywhere else in the world!

Most people who come here believe there is something special and different about this place that draws you in and because of this it is a place that you just have to visit if the opportunity should ever arise! It’s easy enough to tell you that you should visit, but why take anyone’s word on something without an explanation? Therefore, this article should help you understand what Gran Canaria is all about and will point out just a few perks of the holiday!

Walk through a Sahara-like desert…

This might seem impossible almost everywhere, except of course, the Sahara desert. However, what makes this dessert so strange, is it actually is the Sahara desert in a way; the sands from the Sahara are carried over to Gran Canaria in tons every single year due to the winds.

Whilst being here it gives you the incredible feeling of being in the Sahara desert, you won’t be in anywhere near as much danger as you perhaps find yourself in the real thing. Instead, this experience gives you some insight into how it might feel to be in a situation like this and in many cases it can inspire people through the amount the total vastness allows you to think of things.

One season all year round & Great views throughout…

Sometimes the winter can be quite a drag and the most annoying aspect of this is probably the fact that there are minimal things you can do throughout this season. However, why not escape the cold and relive the summer months for a week or two in the winter. This is all possible thanks to summer staying in Gran Canaria all year round!

On top of this, to compliment the glorious heats, there are glorious views all over the island. If you don’t go looking for them you’ll have them thrown in your face, but should you go looking for them; you’ll be astonished by the ever-changing scenery and natural beauty the island has to offer. If you choose to climb via transport, one of the mountains, you’ll be greeted with incredible views! Reaching up to 1500 metres; you’ll pierce through the clouds and you’ll even be able to see the neighbour island Tenerife!

Different continents on one island…

One thing you will definitely notice during your stay is that the island takes up the landscape of multiple countries. As spoken about previously, you have the Sahara-like desert areas, you have the beaches, and aspects of the island look similar to New Zealand Mountains you might have seen on the Lord of the Rings films? In truth Gran Canaria has a lot of diversity about it, It would be almost impossible to single out just one or two landscapes that belong to this place!

Why You Should Visit Marmaris!

For those of you already looking where to go on holiday in the summer, this is definitely one of the places you must consider when deciding where to go! If you’re looking for somewhere ideal for the family, somewhere where the nightlife is exciting but not over the top, somewhere which has sunshine that is just begging to be soaked up by the pool; then this is the place for you!

Of course there is more to Marmaris than this; this isn’t just somewhere which has gained its popularity due to its convenient amount of sunshine throughout the day. There is a lot that goes into ensuring Marmaris is a place that constantly improves, somewhere full of different activities and there’s always something different happening on a daily basis too.

Turkey as a whole is one of the top destinations for tourists and is considered a travel paradise. This is for a reason and the fact Marmaris is one of the most popular places for people to visit throughout Turkey shows how wonderful the place is! There is no point saying this without explaining it properly - so we will explain just a few features of Marmaris so you have a better understanding of what this place is all about.

The people, culture & the weather…

The culture of a place and how the people are in general usually goes hand in hand. After all, a lot of the time it is the culture that surrounds us that shapes how a person is or what they can become. In this instance, the culture surrounding Marmaris is a blend of many things, not to mention the civilizations that span back over 11 thousand years.

Examples of different civilizations that lived in Turkey include; the Frigians, Roman, Ottoman and Greek empires. All of which have left their own mark on the place. All in all, this has made for the people of Turkey and Marmaris in particular to be very welcoming of anyone who might visit; this is fantastic for tourists, as throughout your stay you will be treated like royalty throughout your entire stay.

All this with the added aspect of having sunshine all day long means the chance of being fed up becomes quite miniscule. On top of this, if you’re looking for somewhere that will give you one of those glowing golden tans, then this is your place! I hope you’re prepared for people to be asking about your holiday a lot; there will be no secret you’ve been away thanks to the tan Turkey gives you!

Fun-filled activities, accommodation & attraction sites…

No matter how long you go somewhere; you’ll always need a few activities to do throughout your stay. After all, there is a distinct difference between being relaxed and bored. Boredom is something that simply will not feature during your stay here; for a start you have the opportunity of going paragliding, or maybe a hot-air balloon voyage? If this isn’t enough there will be horse safaris, bumpy jeep rides and skiing among many other activities!

When on holiday there is nothing worse than staying somewhere which is boring, dirty, restrictive, etc. You’ll be happy to hear that there is no accommodation like this in Marmaris; it is your holiday, so you leave the resort and return when you like. There are many attractions close by to the majority of hotels so you have the opportunity of doing something different every day. There will be many activities to do within your chosen hotel and there is often a swimming pool too.

Like taking photos? Then the attraction sites here will be perfect! One thing you can be sure of when you visit Marmaris is that you won’t be short of photos to take home and show the rest of the family. The views all vary so much that you can take a completely different photo every single opportunity that arises. Whether you want a picture of the golden beaches or one of the historical sites which feature throughout thanks to the civilizations previously spoken about; you will be able to acquire both here!
