Zante - Navagio (Shipwreck, Smugglers cove)
The Greek island Zakynthos (Zante) is home to Navagio beach. It is most commonly referred to as the ‘Smugglers Cove’ or ‘Shipwreck beach’ since 1983; when it was alleged a smuggler ship was transporting cigarettes and was wrecked on this beach. The exposed cove has bright white sand and shocking bright, blue water which is caved in with mountain like rocks. This beach is worth a visit just for a photo as it has to be one of the most picturesque beaches there is. This beach lies on the western side of the island and the close by village is Anafonitria.
