Why Croatia Is So Fashionable Right Now?

Croatia is described as one of the most fashionable holiday destinations of this year, but why? Maybe because of its constant, slow growth or maybe because it is regularly visited by one of the most popular celebrity couples, Jay Z and Beyonce? Either way, we have picked out 6 reasons why we think Croatia should be on your holiday radar!

Waters

Croatia is the coast with the most; as its main attraction comes from its coastline (the whole 1800km of it). The turquoise water is magnificently crystal clear no matter which island you visit - and trust us, you will not be short of choice as Croatia’s Adriatic Sea coast has more than a 1000 islands. Croatia is voted second to Cyprus of having the cleanest and well-kept shores, this is because most of the beaches are pebbly. The most photogenic beach is Zlatni Rat on the island of Brac with its unique triangular point beach which reaches far into the ocean.

Food & Wine

During your visit you won’t have to worry about not like not liking the cuisine there as Croatian food is a combination of Italian and Mediterranean with a new-world twist. The most popular dishes you will find are pizza’s, risotto’s and fish dishes. If you are a lover of wine then you are in luck as it is practically tradition to have a carafe of wine with your evening meal. Croatia is known for its impeccable wine selection with over 64 indigenous grape varieties which are used to create a wide range of wines.

History/culture

There is something for everyone in this country - the coastal towns are ideal for those after a laid back break, or for a more upbeat atmosphere you can enjoy the fast paced city. Like to walk? Well you can certainly do this around the towns and cities, allowing you time to take in the modern and ancient buildings.

Most towns have historical centers with unique Croatian architecture. Croatia also has the history of several stone ages which have been discovered all over the country with a few of their caves containing hand made objects from people who were alive hundreds of years ago.

Diving

Due to the incredible coastline this destination is a divers dream! It is becoming the up and coming diving destination thanks to its shallow waters and lengthy coastline, divers get the opportunity to explore coral reefs, shipwrecks and caves.

Weather

Not even the weather weakens the lists of positives of Croatia. The Mediterranean climate means mild winters and gorgeous summer seasons. The county has hot, dry summer weather in the summer and mild albeit occasionally wet in winter, but that is only occasionally.
